One of Kappa Xi Lambda's first marquee events was the MLK Masquerade Ball in the Fall of 2005. Held at the famous Bull Run Restaurant and Conference Center in the Financial District of Manhattan, hundreds of masqueraders partied into the night celebrating and raising funds for the Martin Luther King, Jr National Monument which is being built in Washington, DC.
One of the most prestigious sites remaining on the National Mall has been selected and approved for the Memorial. The Memorial will capture the essence of Dr. King’s passion and vision for all to enjoy a life of freedom, opportunity, and justice.
